On June 11th some of the board members from One Community Now presented a check to Metropolitan Ministries in the amount of $21,588.66 from the funds raised at the Chasco Fiesta Hunger Walk in March. At the walk we raised over $74,000 for the Pasco Pack A Sack Food for Kids program and Metropolitan Ministries Hot Meal program. Over $50,000 will be given to our Pack A Sack partners to provide food for food insecure children over the weekend. Over 500 people participated in the Chasco Fiesta Hunger Walk representing 65 different businesses, organizations and school.  The event was held at Gulf High School and we are already making plans for the Hunger Walk next year to take place on Saturday, March 12, 2016. The Hunger Walk is designed to raise awareness of the hunger issues in our community and help fight hunger in Pasco County
