Homestead Exemption Filing Deadline is March 1st. The property on which you wish to apply for Homestead Exemption must be your primary place of residence on January 1 of the year for which you are making an application.

The Pasco County Property Appraiser‘s office is now accepting applications for Homestead Exemption online. Homestead Exemption Filing Deadline is March 1st. Approved exemptions will renew annually, unless a change in status occurs. Example: property is sold, owner relocates, etc. You may only receive Homestead Exemption at your permanent place of residence.

Please read the following requirements carefully.

The following documents, if applicable, are required for each applicant applying for Homestead Exemption. Please note those which are mandatory for online filing:
If married or married but separated- the following is also required for your spouse, regardless of whether or not he/she is listed as an owner on our records.

  • Must be a permanent resident of the State of Florida.
  • Neither you nor your spouse may receive a residency-required exemption in any other state.
  • Valid Florida Issued Driver’s License or Identification Card. Mandatory for online filing-
  • Social Security Number* of applicant and his/her spouse. Mandatory for online filing-
  • Florida Vehicle Registration if any vehicles owned-.
  • Florida Voter Registration Card if U.S. Citizen and registered-.
  • If not a U.S. citizen, a permanent visa and a declaration of domicile. A declaration of domicile may be obtained from the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
  • Recorded Deed or tax bill verifying ownership of the property on or before January 1st of the year for which an application is being filed.
  • Name and address of any owners not residing on the property.
  • If you previously owned a home in Florida, the physical address or Parcel Identification Number both may be found on a prior tax bill-.
